High-End Custom Kitchen in a New Construction Milton Home
While we tend to do more kitchen remodels in existing homes, this new construction custom kitchen project was a very special opportunity.
Preston and Gabby came to Cabinet Depot looking for help creating the perfect custom kitchen in their new construction home.
Working in a very, VERY customized home in the Moors neighborhood of Milton, Florida, the Cabinet Depot design team knew that this project would require a tremendous level of attention to detail and lots of custom finishes.
A Large-Scale Custom Kitchen
Our first challenge was the height of the space: Preston and Gabby’s ceilings are 12’, so going with standard height cabinets in this space was simply not an option. Instead, our custom layout called for tall cabinets at each end of the range wall.
Measuring an astonishing 114″ (just shy of 10′), they provide a visual frame for the 108″ (9′) staggered-height cabinets between them. In the center of the wall, the client’s nearly 5-foot-long hood sits beautifully over their 48″ wide range creating a visual focal point.
Beautiful Details and Finishes
The cabinetry from Dura Supreme features Kendall Panel style doors and drawers. The wall cabinets and back island are finished in a crisp white to keep the overall feeling light, while the center island hood and center island cabinets are set off in a dark Knotty Alder Weathered “B” finish.
Large corner posts add architectural detailing to the corners of the center island, and the upper cabinets are finished off with dramatic stacked molding to complement the height of the cabinets.
Lots of Storage, Lots of Features
As you can see in this large kitchen there’s no struggle for storage space, which allowed our designer to include an array of functional details to make the kitchen exceptionally efficient. Multiple cabinets were outfitted with pullouts for easy access and smart storage, including spice, tray, and trash pullouts.
We also created a dry bar area with “x” wine racks in the center flanked on either side by glass door cabinets that show off Preston and Gabby’s decorative barware collection. To add extra storage space to the already large island, we incorporated shallow-depth cabinets on the backside. To maintain a clean look here, we used concealed push latches for the cabinet doors.
