We envisioned lots of fun possibilities with this construction remodel, and thoroughly enjoyed working with Ely & Allen to design a kitchen area they would truly love! Our first goal was to identify the pain points and design a layout that would work well for them, as well as beautifully enhance the rest of their home. By taking out a wall and opening up the kitchen into the living room area, we were able to achieve a more open, airy concept.
We feel this design recommendation completely transformed and updated one of the main areas of their home (and they love it too). The gorgeous new flooring, provided by Act 1 Flooring
, compliments the new layout and design of the kitchen and blends beautifully into the living area. The sink, which was previously a frustration, is now converted into an easy-to-use area with a straight run of new cabinetry, and a unique take on a “hop-up” breakfast bar. It’s very easy to work with and move around with ease.
The addition of fully functional cabinets on the backside of the island on either end allows for lots of much-needed storage space. We also converted the desk area into a specially designed nook for Ely & Allen to display the unique barware they’ve collected from all over the world! One of our favorite features of this new kitchen!
As for cabinet functionality & storage: We added multiple organizing kits such as a two-tier cutlery divider, trash can pullout, spice drawer, and lots of rollouts. (see after pictures)
