Jan & Will
Gulf Breeze Coastal Transitional Kitchen
Jan & Will purchased a Northwest Florida waterfront home in the beautiful community of Gulf Breeze with gorgeous views — but seriously outdated kitchen cabinets.
While Jan and Will had an idea of what they wanted in a new kitchen, visualizing how it would all work in the new space was a challenge.
That’s where Cabinet Depot came to the rescue! Our design team helped solve the dilemma by creating a virtual representation of their new layout in our 3-D design software. With these detailed renderings and our cabinet showroom samples in hand, we were able to turn their vision into a concrete plan they could wrap their heads around and approve. With everybody now on board, our team began the work to transform the couple’s kitchen.
One of Jan’s main goals was to brighten up the space, so we started by replacing the dark and traditionally styled oak cabinets. To create the lighter feeling that Jan wanted, the Cream painted finish from Kabinart was selected for the upper and lower cabinets. The subtle styling of the Williamsburg Raised style doors and drawers combines classic details with modern sensibilities — a hallmark of the transitional style.
For a pop of coastal-inspired color, the Hale Navy painted finish was selected for the island cabinets which integrated the range and seating area. To complement these beautiful hues, modern knobs and pulls were added from Hardware Resources’ Syracuse collection in a subdued Brushed Pewter finish.
To make sure the new cabinetry met Jan & Will’s functional needs, we installed a full suite of storage solution kits. Herbs and spices are kept neat in a horizontal drawer rack, and baked goods stay fresh and tasty in a handy bread drawer. Utensils and kitchen gadgets get their own spaces in drawer dividers while a space-saving, two-layer silverware drawer adds extra functionality and organization.
Inside the cabinets, pull out storage trays offer easy access to everyday kitchen tools. To keep small appliances out of sight but within reach, we created dedicated countertop storage areas behind cabinet doors and an articulated, pull out stand mixer shelf. Plugging in is a breeze thanks to a countertop mounted pop-up outlet with built-in USB ports — perfect for keeping phones and tablets fully charged while browsing favorite recipes.
We were happy to help this couple bring their vision to life through careful planning and our design team’s skills. If you’d like to see what we can do to help you with your outdated kitchen, give us a call, send us a message or visit our showroom at 4109 North Davis Highway in Pensacola!
