Gulf Breeze Sleek and Contemporary Kitchen Remodel

After 30 years, homeowner turns her vision into a true dream kitchen.

Kitchen Transformation: Cramped and Outdated to Open and Contemporary

Occasionally, a customer walks in to the Cabinet Depot showroom with a totally clear vision of how they want to remodel their kitchen. This was the case with a recent visit from a lovely Gulf Breeze homeowner. Our designers took this vision, paired it with items from our wide selection of cabinets and hardware, and brought her sleek and contemporary vision to life.

After living in the house for 30 years, our client knew they wanted a sleek, contemporary kitchen. They were highly motivated to realize this transformation, and called upon Cabinet Depot to join their team of remodeling professionals helping with the major overhaul.

First, they got rid of the choppy and closed-off feeling of the old kitchen layout by removing the walls separating the kitchen, dining room, living room and entryway. This created a large, open living space to give the area a modern feel. Removing the walls expanded the kitchen, created an airy feeling and provided elbow room to spare.

Our inspired homeowner had specific ideas for the color scheme in her remodel as well. Her plans included using contemporary colors blended with natural tones and textures to create a modern yet welcoming  kitchen.

Cabinet Depot installed Aspen White Kabinart kitchen cabinets with the Manhattan door style, providing a sharp and clean feel. Metallic elements added by the shiny satin nickel pulls from Hardware Resources and stainless steel appliances complimented the modern design.

The sleek cabinetry plays off of the subtle textures created by the backsplash of elongated, off-white tile laid in a staggered pattern. The kitchen island seats up to 10 guests and provides visual zest with countertops of natural stone infused with striations of neutral tones.

To complete the look, the floors were redone in warm tones reminiscent of well-aged leather. Colorful flower arrangements and a wooden bowl filled with fruits and vegetables provide spikes of bright, natural color and a touch of elegance.

Good-bye drab old kitchen; Hello modern dream kitchen!

Notes from the Designer

“Typically, when a person has lived in their home for more than 30 years, they have trouble re-envisioning the space. They are so used to it being the way they have lived in it forever — this client did not have that problem! She was ready for a change and reworked the entire space to create a sleek and contemporary kitchen in her dream home. We love how this project turned out!” ~ Lindsay Dunn
